Join Toni Marie M. Photog, Cr, CPP, MA, Diamond Photog, and Arthur Rainville, M.Photog, Cr, CPP, API, ASP Hon.EA. This program will broaden your creative approach to portraiture, immersing you in an energetic, soul-seeking workshop that will inspire you to create more meaningful work. Using examples drawn from art history to modern day, and combining that with your personal life experiences, you will discover new ways to create and develop your unique voice.
The presenters bring a lifetime of experience teaching and inspiring artists to look inward as they create their art. They believe that personal vision matters, and that soulful connectivity with subjects is critical. As Arthur says, “A picture is of someone, but a portrait is about someone.”
The ability to bring personal meaning and creativity to our work and to elicit emotions from our subjects is of key importance in our evolving field, accomplishing what algorithms and AI cannot. This workshop will help you feel your art in the process of creating it.
Many available workshops for photographers are focused either on business and marketing practices or specifically about photographic techniques. This one explores those ideas but also encourages a much deeper exploration of your own creativity, building the inspiration and confidence to help you make the art you want to make.

Toni Marie Harryman, M. Photog, Cr, CPP, MA, Diamond Photog Toni has taught and been on jury panels in 32 states and loves to share her passion for photography and art with fellow artists. Being an emotional soul, she tries to bring that emotion into each art piece. Through workshops she opens attendees’ hearts and minds to connecting their own emotions and stories to their art.
Her signature Art Therapy approach is a delicate blend of technical and emotional aesthetics. In hands-on portrait sessions incorporating Artful Dance and Emotive Figure Study, she celebrates beauty and storytelling, sharing with the class a path to creating highly sensitive portrayals.
For those that saw Toni’s presentation at Evolve 2023, this program is an expansion on her presentation applying more of her ideas about creating art from within.
