The "Service Degree" is designed to recognize those members who volunteer their time and expertise to help run the organization. There are a variety of opportunities, especially during the annual convention, to earn service merits. The chart on the "Service Merit Application Form" linked below describes qualifying tasks that earn service merits and how many merits each task is worth. Once a member earns 50 service merits, they are eligible for the Service Achievement Degree medal on a GREEN ribbon. For each 50 service merits earned after the initial degree, a "GOLD STAR" is awarded and is to be affixed to the original medal ribbon.

Service Degree Form

The "Photographic Excellence Degree" is designed to recognize photographic excellence by members who enter PPAM image competition. The chart below shows how merits are earned for image competition scores and awards. Once a member earns 50 image competition merits, they are eligible for the Phototographic Excellence Degree medal on a BLUE ribbon. For each 50 image merits earned after the initial degree, a "Gold Star" is awarded and is to be affixed to the original medal ribbon.

• Professional Partner Membership may be extended to individuals who are married to or who are Studio Owner Partner with another PPAM member.
• This membership will not apply to studio employees. Members with this membership level will receive all the benefits as Active Members.
• Professional Partner membership is subject to PPAM Board approval.

Retired Member - $65.00

• Subscription period: 1 year
• No automatically recurring payments
• Retired Membership may be extended to individuals who have retired and who have been members of the association for 10 years or more and who are 65 years or older. Retired means you no longer earn income through photography, no longer own a photographic studio, maintain a website or advertise photographic services. Retired members will receive all the benefits as Active Members.

Student* - $125.00 

• Subscription period: 1 year
• No automatically recurring payments
• For 1st time members only; must show valid ID of good standing at an accredited college or photography school before membership is approved; includes admission to all seminars and the annual convention; eligible for image competition along with any applicable fees; no voting privileges.

Vendor* - $250.00

• Subscription period: 1 year
• No automatically recurring payments
• *Vendor membership is extended to any photographic supplier or service organization with an interest in professional photography in Massachusetts, but not to include voting privileges or the right to hold office in PPAM.
